Experian seems to be taking advantage of people trying to repair credit, my acoounts on their C.R. are re-aged, inacurate etc. I've gotten both "myficoscore" AND " experian " credit report they both have innaccurate info.
is anyone else having this problem???

let me know please. thanks

I myself have not had any problems with Experian. I did recently pull two of my free credit reports and found one difference between the two reports that I have pulled. One report has a debt listed to fall off in July of a certain year and the other report has the fall off date the same year but in September instead of July. This is the only thing I have seen. You do know that you can dispute items on your credit report don't you? If you do not feel a listing is correct I would dispute it if I were you.

Normally you have to have the proof and if you send it to them they would have to take off or change what ever you are disputing.

Hi masteringmycredit -
You should first send a debt vaildationon letter by certified mail to the creditor or the collection agency whose name appears in the report. If they do not validate the debt within 30 days from the date of receipt of your letter, you should send a copy of the return receipt to Experian. The bureau will first verify it with the creditor and and get it removed from the credit report.

All the three credit bureaus list in your credit report what the creditors reports them. Now a creditor might report incorrect information in your credit report and so it is up to you to check whether the listing in the report is accurate or not. If you do not agree with any debt which has been listed in your credit report, you need to first send a debt validation letter by certified mail as Carol said and if they do not send a proper validation, you can directly dispute the listing with the credit bureaus. A proper debt validation should include a copy of the original signed contract between you and the creditor and the details of the debt you owe including your last payment towards the debt.

Justin, I was wondering if they list judgements on your credit report. There was a question here recently and it referred to finding out about a judgement when they looked on their credit report. Is this possible? So if a judgement is issued against you will it be on your report?

Yes, judgments may be listed in your credit report and may stay there for seven years from the date of judgment. When a creditor brings judgment against you, he has to first sue you and the court issues a summon. If you do not file a response to the summon or do not appear on the court date, the creditor can bring a default judgment against you. However, you can file a motion to vacate the judgment if you are sure that you do not owe the debt for which the judgment was brought against you or the SOL on the debt has expired.

No......i haven't had trouble with them, either..so far. I recently 'disputed' some things, on my CR, because the 'fall-off' date has expired. However............I haven't gotten the 'results' from the CB yet.

Justin, Okay now do you have a certain time period to do this in? What if for some reaon you did not recieve the summons and you get on your credit report to see a judgement is listed? Lets just say a couple years down the line..can it still be vacated?

There is certain time limit for filing a motion to vacate a judgment which differs from one state to another. You need to consult an attorney for this. Once a judgment is put against you, it appears in your credit report and so it is always essential that you check your report at least twice a year so that any discrepancy in the credit report can be corrected. One credit report is free in a year from each of the bureaus and so if you go for two reports, you can pay for one else you can take a report every four months from any one of the bureaus.

YREAS AGO I had a Judgement on my CR. It was on my CR for 7 ( or so..) years. Then it DID come off when the 'fall-off' date expired. Did you say you have a Judgement on there now?
