Can you reopen an old charged off account taken off credit?

I had a charged off credit card that is now off my credit history since it has been 7 years but was bought by a collection agency. can i check on charged off date to see if it was sold within the Statue of Limitations without opening up that old charged off account? i don't want to make a mistake of calling and having it reopened.

Yes check your SOL. If it is out of it then I think there is no reason to reopen the account. Otherwise...if the account is within SOL then go ahead and pay off your debt.

Its good to pay off debts if it is yours. This unburdens you as well. Check your SOL soon. Debt has gone to collection agency and it might be tough, God forbid, to transact with them.
