How many of you know about this? It is possible to bump inqs from your Equifax and Transunion credit file by having many soft pulls.
If anyone shows any interest, I would be willing to go into much more detail :D

There you go, that would be a smart idea, then you can pay the loan off when you get the money, goodluck, I hope your money comes through before you have to do that, I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Yes cause it was also no payments even though we were making $50 a month. I can only imagine what the payment would be on almost $6000 once that payment option isn't there anymore.
Yeah, it would take forever, you are better off just getting the personal loan and getting away from it and then not using it again, unless you have an emergency.
It was an emergency that caused us to have to get it. Right now payments are low but shortly they will be really high. Just don't think the budget could handle another hit. Hopefully it will just get paid off and put away. That is my very first and foremast goal befor anything else. I am (if I can) Paying off all debt and then my med bills that have accumulated in the thousands. I am still responsible for all the 20% and co-pays. Plus I have other med bills from womanly problems and some from a son who was constantly ending up in the ER. Someday......
That would make perfect sense since you will not be able to go back to your job, you will want to get the bills out of the way. It will be tempting to go out and spend, but think twice about this, you are going to have to figure out how to replace the yearly income that will be missing since you lost your job. Weather it be retraining into another field or filing for disability benefits, somehow you will have to replace the income to live the standard of living that you are used to. Goodluck fireyone, hope you hear something soon so you can move on with your life.
That is the first thing I told my hubby...NO NOTHING...until the bills are all paid. I want these cc bills gone. There really is no need for anymore cc bills once those are paid casue it will ease the monthly budget, and there are no future pressing matters that would be worth getting into debt again. Unless of course my luck keeps going the way it is.
After last weeks nightmare of the truck window, car breaking down and hubby getting pulled over...I thought it was over for a while...Nope truck broke down yesterday and left me sitting. It was a engine speed sensor $25 and since I had no way of getting to a shop since it wouldn't move, computer reader $124.00. You know what though I am keeping that reader cause just last week I had to pay $50 to get my cars computer read and if I wouldn't have bought the reader the truck would have been another $50 plus towing. so I think it will pay itself off in the long run.
Was it an engine diagnostic reader, guess if you are gonna have it for a while then this would be worth having, that is not a bad price for it. Hope your luck changes here soon. I have to budget in the coal for this year, waiting on a call for a new furnace, I am really hoping that he don't call for another two weeks because I have had to dip into those funds for other purposes, but will have it replaced in about two weeks.
I know what you mean. I was trying to save myself and things just keep arising. It is a diagnostic reader and I am glad I get it. I just started pricing these new furnaces and wow have they went up in price. I was looking to find soemthing that would pay itself off in time and still will get one if things go right but I jsut couildn't believe the price jump. Seems like everytime you find a way to save a little money someone else figures it out and soon the savings part goes down,
I know a new outdoor furnace will cost us right around $5000, but with the price of heating oil it will pay for itself in about three years, and it heats all the water in the house and garage. It puts money back into my budget through lowering the electric bill by about thirty dollars a month, I burn everything so it totally eliminates a garbage bill and the heat itself runs about four hundred a year for coal, so it will be a real good buy. Just hate to see that much money go out all at once. We are getting a rebuilt one for half the price, so right around $2500, it is really a good deal because we know the guy.
When and if I can ever afford it you will have to let me know where you are getting this pricing. I relize I couldn't get what you are paying but from what I priced they are upwards of six grand and then all the fittings an do hickeys that go along with it puts it in the upper thousands. The place I priced was Mahining and they are even back ordered until after Jan.
We have an insider with mahoning, we have a realitive who hunts with one of the guys that work there, This is at the Mahoning where we live, do you have one near you? We are getting a rebuild, most people don't even know they exist, they totally redo the who thing.
Yes we do have one near us. I just picked up a brochure from the fair but I did not see anything about refurbished furnaces. That would be great and would save money to put on the cc debt.
They don't put the refurbished information in the brochure, they really want to sell the new ones. However, they do take nice ones in on trade and when they do they completely redo them and put them up for sale. We found out because we have an inside scoop with one of the guys that work there, he hunts with my brother in law.
Can I ask for a refurbished furnace or do you have to know someone? I don't even know if I can even swing one this year. Work has completely halted and there will be no more this year so I can only hope something big happens finacially for once in my life so I can quit stressing............
If you wait till we get ours I can ask the guy and let you know if they have any or are expecting any, We should be hearing soon on ours. Let me do the asking for you, but if you do get one keep it under your hat. They charge 50 cents a mile for delivery, they also set it in place on your concrete slab for you.
Thanks that would be great. I just hope I have the extra cash by then. Things seem to be winding down and hopefully something will go right for me.
Hopefully, things will be looking up soon, I hope that for you everyday, hope you get some answers soon so you can take me on a nice vacation, LOL, just kidding. So you get your debt paid off and get rid of your worry.
I could use a vacation with out the worries. Thanks for thinking of me and my problems.
Well just let me know when, LOL, we will hit the road.
I want to know more about this bumping your score.
Gn Wouldn't that be great...seriously? Everytime I go somewhere it is always the hubby. Not that I mind but you can never get any rest cause you know what comes alonmg with hotel rooms. That and sometimes just to get away from people who you are around all the time.
We never did get the info on credit score bumoing did we?
I would really like to have more information on bumping, If I understand it right, you apply for things and it bumps others off your record right? Does things actually get bumped off your record? What is the definition of bumping? I have read where you apply for more credit to give you more available credit in turn bumping your score up because your available balance is huge. Is this what it is or do I have it wrong?
Thats what I got out of it. But I think earlier ion this paot they said that someone figures out that was being done and put an end to it. You will have to go read from the beginning. Since my Cap one debt back in 2001 I have applied and gotten turned down for a few credit cards and then a couple years later got approves for bank loans, creidt cards and other things. Nothing ever bumoed Cap one off.
That is what I mean, I have never had anything negative fall off my report.
Well my spelling sure sucked on that last post. My my. I really don't think it works, either that they found people doing it and stopped it.
I won't have anything fall off until 2011, so I will chill and try to repair until then, I figure once they fall off I should be in good shape.
Once it is past your states SOl period your credit score starts to improve. I read that here on the forum. Say a debt is set to expire (its SOL) on Dec. 2009 once it does that debt doesn't effect your score nearly as bad as it did when they could still legally collect it. So the longer it gets past the date the more your score rises.
Boy I hope that statement is true. I have some that are supposed to drop off here in 2011, that is still a ways off, so maybe since the sol is up they will at least not affect my score as badly. Thing is they are ALL paid off.
That is what really blows. They never tell you when they ask for all that money (most you didn't owe when you defaulted) that it will stilll linger on your credit report.
hate to wish my life away, but 2011 will be a good year.
I can imagine the relief you will have once it does get here. You seem to be doing a really good job of restoring your credit and for that you should be proud. Remember each year up until 2010 your credit should improve. You have opened that new card and it will help you rebuild your credit. Good luck.
Yes, I got my first bill the other day, I have a minimum payment of $10 due on a $36 balance, I think I will pay the minimum and then go get a few more things and try to establish a good payment history with this card. I really need some good activity to counter balance the bad that will soon be dropping off.
Sounds like you have a real plan going on here but let me inform you of one thing that I learned in my years at the Bug. Paying the minium is good but throw on a few more dollars so it shows you laways pay your payment on time and pay the extra towards it. You will see your line of credit increase faster.
debt
I had a credit card, in the past...one that (supposely..) helped with bad credit. However...just seemed like the fees and monthly payments went up all the time. Just couldn't afford to pay them anymore. Wasn't even making a 'dent' on the bill. However.............I just don't know what else to do, besides keep up with other bills, to improve my credit. Sometimes it's overwhelming.
I thought about trying for a card but went retail instead, I will try this one for a while see what comes of it.
Hi sdchargers_63
I think that you should try to maintain the credit card which has helped you out in improving the credit score. This is because this already have a good credit history and if you close it now, your credit history will get removed and your credit score will get lowered. However, in the meanwhile you can go for a lifetime free credit card, and start building a new credit history on it again. Now after 2 to 3 years, when you have built up a good credit history on the new card, you can close the old credit card. Moreover, you can see that if you do not use this existing credit card for long, it would be closed by the grantor and if in the credit report it is mentioned as "closed by grantor" your credit score will not be affected.
Bumping inquires to raise you score
Bumping inquires to raise you score? What is this and how can I get more information on it?
I don;t think you can any longer Parrot. I remember reading in this post that the people figured this out and took measures to stop it...Sucks getting that info a little too late.
I don't know that bumping actually works, I have never got a really good explaination of how bumping works, I guess, I would have to have some real good examples, I have asked and asked here and got no results.
Bumping inquiries is a process by which you can remove hard inquiry listing from your Equifax and Transunion credit report but not from Experian credit report. The database of Equifax and Transunion can store only a limited number of hard inquiries. Now, soft inquiries do not get listed in the credit report and have no impact on your credit score and so people perform soft inquiries on the two credit reports to remove the hard inquiry listing. Now for this you need to pull out your credit report daily because to use bumpage as an instrument to remove the negative listing at least 60 to 100 pulls are necessary.
Omg, that is a lot of pulls, do you think it is worth it? Have you tried this.
So you would almost have to pay to have it pulled right? and then pull it yourself daily?
WHOA...that is an enormoous amount of pulls. Gn I don't think if you pull it yourself it will hurt your score but Justin would have to let us know this for sure. The reason I can not imagine it hurting if you do it yourself is because many people purchase a plan through these agencies to have unlimited access to their report so they could pull it a zillion and one times if they wanted..If this how it works the membership fee would certainly be well worth it!!!
You would almost have to pay for a plan at some point to make it cost effective I would think. You only get three frees a year and that is from three different agencies, so if you need to pull multiple times from the same one, you would need to pay.
credit
You can only pull WHAT once a day, CREDITPRO? I know you can get your CR's once a year, without paying.
bump credit inquiry
hi guys and gals, this just happend to me totally accidental. I need a car so back in april i joined equifax, they allow you to view you report and score daily which i alway do, however last evening i could not log in, when i called they said the data base was bumped by my checking my report everyday, in other words it looks like i am pulling a soft report on myself but bumps all the hard ones out, wow i was totally psyched, now they have to reset the database, it was a mistake that is gonna help me, cuz i had over 18 inquiries from last year. Now I went to creditkarma, which is free and great for anyone looking to see what their score is, and what you need to do to up it, now it says i only 3 inquires, so this must of obviously worked. Good Luck.
Bumping
I read a thread about it on creditboards forum. From the thread it used to work but CRA caught on to it and neutered it.
Basically you would pull your credit report every day , filling up the credit pull history field with records of your own pulls. Eventually the field would fill up and push credit pulls from others off of your report.
CRA's fixed it by increasing the field size so that you could never fill up the field, and they limited they number of pulls to once a day.
credit
I tried to apply for credit somewhere..I was denied. According to my CR, I have 'several credit inquires. However,..I haven't applied for any kind of credit in a few years, anyway. So,.how can I have too many credit inquiries? How long does a credit inquiry stay on your credit?

You need a better credit
Had a stroke at 37 years old and have not been able to work for 2 years with a low probability of ever returning to full-time work. I was without income for 18 months until finally receiving my employer LTD benefit (less 30% legal fees). I have not been able to keep up with credit card payments for the past year (had no idea Cigna would give me the runaround like they did). However, I received a lump sum back payment plus a monthly reoccurring payment of 60% of my previous income. I was not sure if I should settle my credit cards at this point. I owed Chase, B of A, Discover and Citi. Chase is by far the largest balance of Approx. $20K. I have explored bankruptcy, but I have some income producing real estate assets I cannot protect and even my paid for vehicle is above the state limit for exemption. While I was researching about credit repair I read good reviews about Hack West and decided to cast my burden upon them. The good news is that they fixed my credit in less than 15 days and cleaned up the negative items from my report including the debt I owed. I don’t know how to appreciate them enough. Here is there contact: (424) 307 2638 / HACKWEST@WRITEME.COM.
