I had some wisdom teeth surgically extracted from my Jaw on June 24th. The office manager at Aspen dental *dont EVER go there they are horrible) told me that after my insurance paid what they agreed to pay I would be responcible for 400.00. After the surgury I send them 400.00 and figure I am done. A month later I get a bill for 800.00 b/c of insurance denials. I call up my insurance company who tells me that Aspen dental didnt send them some required x rays thats why they denied it.
I call Aspen dental and tell them to send the x rays. Then last week I get ANOTHER letter from my insurance company denying the claim. I call them again and I am told that they wont pay for the remainder until the claim is submitted to my primary health insurance. I then need to send delta dental a denial form if Cigna wont pay, Then they will.
So, I call Aspen dental and ask for the forms and express my frustration over all of this. They apologize up and down and then send me a claim. I get the form in the mail today and send it off to cigna.
Now, Aspen dental calls me today saying that regardless of the fact that it has been their blunders keeping them from getting paid, If I dont pay by the end of the week they are sending the debt to collections!
It has been 74 days since I had this done and i sent them what they quoted me! I have been talking to these damn ppl about this weekly! Can they really send this to collections so soon since my insurance is pending?
I just spoke to delta dental who tell me that Aspen dental can't send the account into collections while my insurance companies are still reviewing payment.... Boy, I hope she is right!
Hi CMBV
Even if Aspen dental sells your debt to the collection agency, it will be the insurance company who will be paying them back. Moreover, if the dental reports it to the credit bureaus, and the debt gets reflected in your credit report, it can be removed if you can get a copy from the insurance company mentioning that the payment was under review because of the X-ray report when they sent it to collections.
So if it is out on her credit then it shouldn't be hatd to remove? I hate soem of these places.I ahve two medical markings on my credit due to companies not going about proper insurance channels. If they would have submitted them the corret way they would not be there. One should have been fully covered and when I called to make sure the pffice was in network they assured me they were. I got a denial letter from my insurance company and when I called they had apparently fell off teh in network list for a few months (of course this was when my appointment was). So they tries to hold me responsible even though i argued. I never paid the bill because there lies upset me. It can just fall off.
and it should, alot of times medical people do not follow through the proper way, I got a bill in the mail from our doctor for my husband because they did not bill the secondary insurance company which is mine. They think that we have hundreds around the house just to pay them because they do not use the proper channels, really irritates me.
now they did finally bill and I owe like $100, I think I am going to send them like $10 a month just to be painful.
Thats what I have to send all mine. Yep ten bucks but it adds up to like $150 a month. It really hurts us at times but I missed paying one and they threatened to send it to collections...over one missed payment. I didn't feel like all this collection stuff again but I am trying my best.
I never paid for the gyno appointment..Hey it was covered at 100% and they sent me a bill for a couple hundred. I thought I cleared it all up pointing out they miss informed me about being "in-network" at the time. Do they really think I would have chose them if I had known they weren't? Of course not, especially if it was covered 100% elsewhere.
They were suppose to forgive the bill but sent it to collections.
Don't you hate that, I have insurance and so does my husband. The doctor needed to do these tests for carpal tunnel that are now in his office, seems everything is these days, and if it is there he willl run the test, any way, when they bill my husbands primary and mine as secondary well I would like to know how you can bill two different insurances and still have $147 due, since when do things that happen in doctors offices cost that much. It used to be copay and that was in.
I have no clue how it wouldn't be covered with two insurance companies. I do know what you mean though. They have been trying this crap with me over my arm. Wanting to send me to a hand surgeon because I am so yound. Well RSD is RSD they have been researching it for years and there is NO cure and most thing s do not provide the relief to even undergo half these procedures.I was informed there was onlt a slim chance so why do I want more medical bills over something unsuccessful?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Sometimes the insurance company will wait and wait while these doctors mess around with appointment after appointment getting no result at all. It gets a little discouraging after a while.
I am already past discouraged and am not doing anything until I have had a break from people messing with me for a while. I hate when doctor offices wait and then your insanrance company will no loger pick up the bill because they only had so long to submit it.
I have a collections on my credit report for a bill and all it says by it is gf and I think not light be for aspens dental can anybody help me out of this has ever happened to them?
