Found Travelers Bank on my credit report. Have NO clue what this might be for. Can't find a number to even call to find out what this is in reference to. Help anyone!!! please

As far as I know, Travelers Bank is a part of citibank. It might have appeared in your credit report because you may have taken a loan at some point of time from citibank. But if you are sure that you do not owe anything to them, send them a debt validation letter. If they cannot validate your debt, then you need not worry, but if they validate your debt, come to a repayment agreement with them to pay off your debt.
You can contact citi bank at the following address
399 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10043, U.S.A.
You can also call them at 800-285-3000

Anthony is correct. Citibank and Travelers group merged in 1998 to provide investment, banking and insurance services. This merger made citicorp the world's largest financial service provider. So it may be the case that you have earlier taken a loan from citicorp and failed to repay it and so it got listed in your credit report under the name of Travelers Bank which is its subsidiary.

Thank you so so much! My credit report is a whole different language to me..I am learning the lesson that its probably a good idea to pull it & analyze it a little more frequently than once every..hm. maybe 10 years! Thank you very much for your help :)

Really that is the truth ammorrin. You have access to three free pulls a year from annualcredit report.com. I always tell everyone to use them. After all they are free so you can always make sure everything is on the up and up.

Yes Ammorrin, since you have three free reports every year, all that you can do is to pull one report every 4 months from one bureau. In this way you can keep track of your report without paying for it. Another thing is that having credit knowledge will help you to manage your credit efficiently.
