Are you asking that how long does it take for a negative item to get off of your report? It is generally 7 - 10 years from the date of reporting. What does the status say? Please share it in details so that members can help you out.
Hi WC_M2000
Normally any negative listing stays in your credit report for seven years. But the sol differs from state to state. The expiry of SOL on your debt depends on which state you live in.
anthony, I don't think it varies on how long it will be on the report, depending on what type of account it is will depend on how long it will reflect negatively on the report. A bankruptcy will stay on for ten long years, while other types of tradelines usually drop off at about seven years.
I do know a bankrupsy stays on a report the longest. Anyone who even thinks of going this route needs to see if there are any other options for them. 10 years is such a long haul and lots of people need good credit somewhere along that time. You never know what life will throw at ya and how important your credit is until you really really need it.
I know it may seem like the answer right now, but 2, 4, 6 years down the road when it is still haunting you, you will wish that you would have taken a different route. Look at all alternatives before making this decision.
GN I just can not tell yolu how right you are. I am really glad that faze of my life is over. They have really chenged the bankrupsy laws since the time I filed. I wouldn't know them now and don't care to know. I won't go that route again.
