My wages were garnished a total of $1800 for a debt that was only $530. The company that i owed the debt to says they did not receive any funds. How do i find out where my money went and how do i go about getting back the over payment?

In which mode have you made your payments- via money order or Cash? Do you have any written documents that will prove you have already made your payments?
