how can we consolidate debt without using home equity

we bought our house july of 06. although it could be considered that we have a very high mortgage i am quite sure that we will have no problem paying for it considering our monthly income. what is bothering me is that at the end of 06 bills start to accumuate and we are startting to pay minimum required payments to our credit cards. i want to consolidate this debts without including our mortgage. the value of our house had not gone up since we purchased it. is there any other way to consolidate debt without using home equity
