I currently have two judgments that are on my credit report. One from AT&T and the other from a Credit Union. Both were placed with a Law Firm Collection Agency. They are both near the amount of $600 each. They were both put on my CR in March and May of 2007. I am prepared to pay both off. Should I do a pay for delete letter, should I call, will paying them off help my credit score. I am at a lost. However I am ready to get the ball rolling today. I understand that if I pay them off, that it will just show as the judgment has been satisfied and will in turn start the drop off date from the date satisfied up until another possibly 7 years. Is there anything else I should know or do. I am all ears and eyes open right now. Don't want to make a mistake with this one.

Hello.....just want to say I'm NOT an expert, on this Forum. However...I've learned alot, from all of the people here. i want to ask you a question..are you sure this CA is a Law Firm? ANY CA can call you, or send you a letter, and tell you they are from a Law Firm. The document may even look official. Have they actually sent you a Validation letter? I wouldn't do anything until one of the experts, on the Forum, comes in and gives you some help. These CA's can try and scare you half to death and tell you "you need to pay now", etc (telling you this from personal experience). Just hang in there.
