Battling Huge Rate Hike

I've got several business credit cards with high balances as I've gotten clobbered during the economic downturn. I recently found out one of the cards the promotion rate ran out and they jacked the rate up to 24%. All my other cards are 8-13%. I have decent credit (high 600's to low 700's). From what I understand even though these cards are in my business name (a partnership) they go on my personal credit.

hello,
here is my situation:

about 3 years ago a contractor was hired to perform remodeling work on my house. the contractor was doing work that was sub-standard and he was fired about 6 months into the project. despite his substandard work, I have paid him 100% of what was owed for the work performed and we amicably parted ways.

Handling a judgement

In 2008 my husband was contacted numerous times by a collection agency for a debt originating in 1989 from his previous marriage. This debt had been paid in the early nineties and he did not have the supporting documentation. In August he was served with papers stating that a law firm was seeking a judgement on him. We are in NC. He contacted the agency and told them that he would appear in court to dispute the debt. There was no court date on the papers served and he was never notified of the court date. In November he rec'd notice of default judgement.

Consumers dealing with ID Theft need to take quick action to protect their rights.

1. File a police report - need to get copy of the report or the report # and police department phone number.

2. Notify the creditor of the fraud, close all accounts that were opened or taken over. If you are a customer of the company ask for a new account number and add a pin # to protect the account.

3. Call all 3 credit reporting agencies and activate a fraud alert, you are entitled to 2 free credit reports per year.
