Credit score increse in four months

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Tue, 07/07/2009 - 04:35

I am in the process of buying my first home. my lender says that my credit score is a 584, 30 points away from a 620. i have a few bad accounts older that 12 months, a car note, and a loan; the car note and the loan i am paying on time every month. he says that if i get a secured credit card and remove an old judgement off my credit, my score can increse the 30 points by november, which is when i need to close on the house that i am interested in buying. does this seem possible if i continue to pay my car note on time and keep my credit card balance lower than 30% of the balance?[/i]

Closed credit accounts 3-4 weeks from closing

My credit card company closed 2 of my cards due to inactivity. I discovered that another one (from another bank) closed my account in January for the same reason. Should I call them to reopen the accounts or should I just leave it alone at this late stage? One card I've had since 2001. The others since 1993 (my oldest account).

Does paying off judgment increase score?

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Tue, 06/30/2009 - 04:38

Finally I have been able to pay off the judgment in full. But I wanted to know without having to pay for my report, by how much will my score increase? Are there other ways to increase my score quickly? I do not need a loan immediately but want to build up a good credit record. My score before I paid off the judgment was 630. I do not have any other baddies, except for a few late payments that are about a year old.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello I am 28 years old and i will be buying my first house in the next 8 months i hope. I have been working on my credit for the last 4 months by opening an installment loan, credit card, merchant card. All of these accounts have been paid each month and in good standing. I have some collections on my credit that i was unable to get removed. I have been looking into tradeline credit accounts but it will cost me some money to get them added. That's no big deal if it will work. If not should i just pay off all the collections first. What would be the best move for me.

I dont know if you have many people on here from the UK but im wondering if your credit scoring system is similar to the UKs? I've just turned 21 and have being using my credit since i turned 18 in a number of ways including loans and cards and always been good. I've looked at my credit score as i'm looking at how im getting on and its shockingly LOW  ! I have a big loan which will has 4 years to be paid which is easily affordable and two credit cars which carry about £2000.00 accross them but this is been paid off in big chunks now.

Credit Card reported as Installment Account?

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Sun, 05/31/2009 - 03:49

My Chase Freedom card is reported as Installment instead of Revolving on my Transunion report. The Limit field is also blanked. Isn't this hurting me? Would moving it to Revolving and having my $15,000 limit counted improve my score? I have several cards and never carry a balance. I have no late payments.

How ridiculas can they get

:!:
I'm still working on my credit report. Several months ago I came across an electric bill for $86.00. I have been trying to find where to send payment for this and what a nightmare it has been.
I called the collection department and they say that the electric co took it back. I call the electric co and there is NO record of this bill. I called the the CB and they can tell me nothing. They have no record of it.
I made several calls which is quite frustrating as all I wanted to do was pay.

$50 overdue water bill - down to "moderate risk"

Submitted by creditmajix on Wed, 05/13/2009 - 00:02

I moved from Los Angeles to another state, and apparently forgot to pay my final water bill. I realized this when my credit monitoring sent me an email alert. I later checked my Experian score, and it dropped me down to Moderate Risk.

So, I paid off the collections agency who acted on behalf of the LA Water department -- the rep initally told me I could talk to her boss to remove it. I tried my best for some sympathy with her.. but the supervisor didn't seem to want to deal with it.

"you just have to wait 5 years for this ..." is what I got back from him.

Card Services (Aspire Credit card) company called my parents while I was there. I answered the phone and a man asked for my mother by name and I asked may I help you?. this is when he went into MS._____ I wanted to see if we could set up a payment plan on your account you are only a few months behind and we will take off the interest and this will mean that if you pay 54.00 now this will put you on a payment plan and if you can't pay this then it will be 26.00. you may pay with your debet card. So I said what is my balance. he gave it to me. I then stated when was my last payment.
