I was the victim of a scam and nearly a quarter million dollars was stolen from my credit cards, bank accounts and the IRS. I tried to report the theft without success, and discovered government corruption and possibly organized crime.
According to the court, I am responsible for recovering the stolen funds. No lawyer will help me for fear of damage to his career. My next court appearance is in two weeks. Where can I get help?
I have filed criminal complaints with the following agencies: Local police, Local District Attorney, State police, Attorneys Generals in both states, FBI, US Attorney, Secret Service, IRS, USDOJIG, etc.

Here is what I have written on the subject, but it sounds like you have covered all of your bases.
Have contacted the credit reporting agencies to activate a fraud alert?
You can find their contact info at the link above, activate a fraud alert, put a victims statement on all 3 of your credit reports, be sure to also contact Innovis, www.innovis.com
Contact the Federal Trade Commission http://www.ftc.gov
Fill out an ID Theft Affidavit and forward copies to all of the agencies you mentioned as well as the ones I have mentioned.
The FTC will also have other information on different types of ID Theft that you are dealing with.
http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/resources/forms/affidavit.pdf
Contact the FDIC http://www.fdic.gov/
Contact the NCUA http://www.ncua.gov/
Also visit the ID Theft Center here:
http://www.idtheftcenter.com/
Also try the Better Business Bureau here: http://www.bbb.org
I will post back if I can think of any other directions for you to try.
I am really sorry to hear that this happened to you, I really hope you get this resolved, out of all these agencies, someone might get back a hold of you like a case worker to take on your case, there are some groups out there that sometimes take on cases for consumers. Be sure to ask the various companies you contact if they can put you in touch with them.
recovering stolen credit cards
Hi fkarkota,
You have done what was needed. Other than what Nightstar has suggested, you can report this to the Fair Credit Billing Act (FCBA). FCBA protects you from fraudulent charges made against you using your card. By reporting this to the FCBA, your loss will get restricted to only $50.
You should also call the 3 credit reporting agencies and put a fraud alert on your account. Their contact numbers:
Equifax: 1-800-525-6285
Experian: 1-888-397-3742
Trans Union: 1-800-680-7289
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Aaron
Thank you for your responses.
This was not id theft, but fraud and embezzlement. According to the judge, the FCBA does not apply. Furthermore, since powerful government officials were involved, nobody wants to touch this. That is why I filed a complaint with the USDOJIG.
The problem is that I am still required by the court to recover the stolen funds. I do not know where to start or where to get help. My state AG has agencies that help crime victims, but they will not even talk to me.
Incidentally, I also filed complaints with the FTC, FDIC, and Postal Inspector.
Any Suggestions?

Hi,
Can you tell me what USDOJIG means? Is it United States Department of Justice. I believe you have done whatever is necessary. I don't there is anything else that you can do.
Thanks,
Aaron
The USDOJIG is the agency that investigates the Department of Justice. There appears to be a cover-up that goes into the DOJ. Some of the people involved in the scam worked for the DOJ, but I have no proof that they were aware of the fraud.
I have solid proof that people inside the state government are involved. It is puzzling that DOJ will not investigate this corruption.
I think that the only place left is to find an investigative reporter, but even they seem to be afraid.
Thanks for your comments.

I am really not sure what more to tell you then to take it straight to the Government agencies, I posted a link also you could just write direct to the President, I know he don't get to all of his mail, but maybe someone will catch it and forward it to him.

I bet if you send enough letters - eventually someone should notice you, as they say the "squeaky wheel gets greased".
Good luck with this matter, and by all means, please come back and update us as to your progress, I am really interested to see if you can make headway with this particular problem you have.

It took me a bit to figure out your abbreviation, so you have been going up higher,
Can you give us some details like all of the types of accounts that were affected, like checking / savings / credit cards / stocks / bonds /
What all are you dealing with - and how much money was lost on each individual one?
The FDIC only covers $100,000 per account, - did you have more than that in any one given account?
I found some more information but I don't know if it is relevant yet until we hear back from you.
Also what state are you from? And when did all of this take place?
Sometimes the more you talk about it, the more we start to see all of the parts relevant to the situation. Thanks
The situation is complicated. My small business had a minor problem with the IRS. I entrusted my lawyer with $20,000 to pay back taxes with the IRS but he used it to pay his own bills and told me that the IRS refused payment. He said that I had to file for bankruptcy to avoid seizure.
He filed phony papers with the Bankruptcy Court to make it appear that my company could not pay its obligations. He then told me that I had to withhold payment from all of my creditors so that the Court could arrange payment. I liquidated the company so that the creditors could be paid. The lawyer only paid a few of the creditors to satisfy the Court. Most creditors got nothing. Since all of the debt was cosigned by me, the creditors came after me.
When I discovered the fraud, I went to the FBI. The agent told me that only the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers could investigate. The BBO covered up the crime to protect the lawyer. No government agency will challenge the BBO, not even the US Attorney.
I have filed complaints with the IRS, US Trustee, US Secret Service, US Postal Inspector, US Civil Rights Department, USDOJIG, and on and on. No agency affiliated with the Massachusetts Attorney General will even talk to me. The only way that I could get my local police to take a complaint was to threaten to take it to Town Meeting.
My representatives in Congress claim that it is illegal for them to help me to find an appropriate agency. Even newly elected Scott Brown! No private lawyer will help me for fear of retribution.
I have posted the full story at compolinc-dot-com and I have posted hundreds of supporting documents at another URL.
Any suggestions?
Let me look, I just ordered a bunch of new publications from the FTC, they have quick an itemized list of directions for different things.
I can say the bankruptcy trustee might be another direction to turn to, I can't remember if you said you turned over that rock yet.
I am going to contact a friend to come look over this post and give me feedback, to pass on to you, I think I might be able to get some help and report back.
I will message you my number and e-mail, I will unfortunately not be able to access internet for a bit, due to computer problems, but I do want to help you figure this out. SO that if this happens to someone else, I will have the learning experience to help someone else out.
I am really sorry to hear of the extent that this person took to do this to you. There has got to be a way to address this.
Thanks, Pammila

I’m a single mom. My credit has been horrible for so long. I didnt think anyting would help it... and I was very skeptical when I heard of Hack West Credit Repair. I thought it was a scam and didn't believe they were who they said they were. But I took a chance and trusted them and am so glad I did.. West has been so easy to talk to, I call, he answers... I have a question, he explains. Something new is happening then he calls me. There’s always communication. Of course a little ways and I realized it wasn't a scam. I'm very pleased with my results and very soon I will be very excited to take my children and my family into our new home... I can honestly say it wouldn't have happened without Hack West!!
