Hi all. I am starting the process of rebuilding my credit. My question is this... Are PFD letters less successful on smaller debts? I have couple of CAs on my report for 50 and 72 dollars. I have validated the $72, and I am going to validate the $50 one. Do I hav any chance of getting these deleted? I also have a couple in the 4-600 range. Will These be more successful?
Thanks in advance.
Brandon
I had luck in getting a $55 and $13 deleted from my report. You may need to be persistent though. I sent 4 letters until they actually responded and agreed to PFD. Good luck!
PFD to repair credit
Hi Brandon,
There is no such thing that your "Pay for delete" request may get rejected because of small debt. Sometimes the creditors, or collection agencies even cancel the PFD request on huge amount of debts. It totally depends on the creditor or collection agency, whether or not they will agree to the PFD request.
You can use the PFD letter available with this community, and write one of your own.
Thanks,
Aaron
Smaller is easier in some ways, but there are issues. the thing is that CA has to send you a letter on letterhead that says they agree to delete this item. It has to be authorized by the Collection Agency license holder. And the peon agent that called you has to do all of this. Their cut ( and all these people work for a percentage not salary) may be so low it is not worth it. The incentive for CA's doing a PFD is the instant cash they get.
