I'm unable to keep paying the credit cards. My income is Social Security and 2 small retirements from my late husband due to his disability before he passed away. Can the creditors take action against me?? My income is direct deposit. Can they attach or get a judgment against my income. I live in Kansas. I do know my home and car are protected here. What to do??? Very scary, as my medical costs just keeping going up!! I will be 70 next July!! I was disabled before receiving regular SS benefits. None of my income is currently taxable. I don't even have the $306 and $1800 for an attorney to file Chapter 7 bankruptcy!!! How did this happen??? Choosing between food, RX, or housing!!!
Thanks!!!

No... they can’t take your late husband’s social security income or retirement benefit from you. But they can place a lien on your property to satisfy their judgment. Try to get help from your friends and relatives. Otherwise...filing bankruptcy is your only option.
