I got my first call from a collection agency( geneva roth). I don't know which payday loan is involved How do I deal with this company and what can they do to me? I over paid all my loans and they are prohibited in NEW JERSEY
Close down your bank account so that they don't debit money from your account without your permission. Demand a refund. Send a C&D letter to the collection agency.
Payday lending is prohibited in New Jersey. That means all lenders in this state are illegal. They can’t do anything, so don’t be scared. Simply ask them for the refund, as you have already overpaid them. Close down your old bank account and open a new one to stop debiting money from your account.
As you have already said that they are prohibited in New Jersey, simply ignore them.
If it's prohibited in New Jersey, then you can avoid them completely.
