This is a email that I received from Magnum Cash Advance.
Your account is being forwarded to a national collection agency. If you do not respond to their attempts to contact you, your default will be reported to the major credit bureaus (Experian, Transunion, and Equifax), which will severely impair your ability to obtain credit in the future.

I responded by telling them they could not put this on my credit report and that they are illegal in NC according to the Attorney General's office and ask for their license to operate in NC. Did I do right?

magnum is offshore and illegal,and they know it.they will respond by stating that since they are in some hole-in-the wall not located the US you are subject to their laws.it's complete BS,and i would file a complaint with the NC AG asap.btw anybody who attempts to collect weill be a law breaking bottomfeeder.just know that.

PAUL is right. Illegal lenders can’t report to the credit bureaus. File a complaint against them to the SAG or FTC immediately.
