Erasing Derogatory Info

I have a couple of derogatory entries on my credit that are closed with a zero balance. Some are as old as 2003 but the company keeps reporting it. Do these still affect my credit score even though there is no balance and if so how do I get them removed?

Any kind of negative item will remain on your credit report for 7 years from the date of your first default. After that time period it will automatically be removed from your credit report. If the same doesn’t happen, contact with the credit bureaus and dispute it with them.

It has been 10 years since 2003, so technically they should have been removed. Talk to the credit bureaus about this.

Yes,

They can't renew the debt just like that. Simply dispute these with the credit bureaus.

Before disputing any negative item, it is important that you have the required proof to substantiate your claim.
