How do I get hard inquiries removed that are still appearing on my report, but are over two years old?

My hard inquiries appeared on 7/7/2008 but are not deleted from my account.

Whenever a third party accesses your credit report, a notation referencing that action – termed an "inquiry" – is made on your credit report. Unfortunately, the presence of inquiries may negatively impact your credit score. And the more inquiries present, the faster your credit score may drop.

Fortunately, both creditors and credit bureaus should be able to substantiate the "permissible purpose" provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, which regulates who may view a consumer's credit file, for any questionable inquiry. If you believe that one or more inquiries should not belong on your credit reports, you can prepared investigation letters and mail letters to credit bureau(s) and creditor(s) concurrently.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Inquiries that appear on credit reports often reference formal, signature-based applications for credit. For that reason, such letters must be signed and sent by you.

I hope this helps, please let me know if you need more info or challenge inquiries sample letter.

Hi amanda,

Welcome to this community :)

Hard inquiries stay on your credit report for 2 years. After the 2 years these are supposed to fall of your credit report. However, if it's not the case you can file dispute with the credit bureaus.

You will get a sample dispute letter with this community, which you can use to write one based on your problems.

Thanks,

Aaron
