Judgement

I checked my credit report for the first time. I have a judgement that is two years old. I never received the papers because I moved. How can I remove the judgement and go to court so that I may have a trial? I live in NJ.

I want to take care of this matter ASAP.

Hi Robyn,

Welcome to this community :)

As you were not aware of this judgment till date, ad were not served any notices, you can file a motion to vacate the judgment within 180 days from the date of discovery of the judgment. You can get the form to file the motion from the court itself.

Thanks,

Aaron

Aaron,

Is there a legal means such as a NJ statute/Administrative Code that I can refer to to show that I can get a judgement vacated if within 180 days?

I intend to represent myself. First, removing the judgement and then hopefully go to court if I can get this judgement vacated.
