Hi,

I am into a 3yr program, and have completed my 2nd yr and am studyin part-time at the moment. I will be back in my nursing program in the last part of this year. I've gotten up to $12,000 of loans and i've started to explore means of repaying it. I am looking for a job right now because I think since I've been a part-time student for at least the past 6 months, I need to start paying the loan.

So anyone knows if there are ways of paying it off perhaps through loan forgiveness programs?

Hi Reece,

First you should check out the status of this account on your credit report. However, there are various student loan forgiveness program. You will have to find out if you are eligible for that. If you qualify for student loan forgiveness program, parts of the debt is forgiven in lieu of your volunteer work.

There are also student loan deferment programs. You need to check the various student loan deferment programs in your state. You are not required to make any payments during this deferment. Even the loan amount does not grow during this time.

Thanks,

Aaron
