What can I do about this LVNV account

Hi,

I've got letter from CA working for LVNV for a settlement. I don't recognize debt, nor is the original creditor on the credit report. The drop off date on report for LVNV is 2010, December on TransUnion so I know its past SOL. Problem is these jokers have already tried to sue me on this earlier in the year. They almost got default judgment as I never received original summons, only received summons for reschedule from courthouse. I really don't want to pay them since legally i know i don't have to. I know LVNV will never validate, they will just keep passing around (by the way I have been calling my local courthouse every week for 6 months just to see if anythings been filed)

Oh and did I forget to mention when they filed the first time, they filed in a court 500 miles away in my state and the online system in my state stinks for finding out court cases.

Any advice welcome.

Hi Tiffney,

I think you can send a debt validation letter to the collection agency. Try the 1-2 punch.

However. can you tell what had happened in the court? Moreover, the collection agency can't file case in a court so far away.

Thanks,

Aaron
