I was wondering if I could get some help raising mine and my husbands credit scores. My current score is 597, I filed chapter 7 in 2004. My husbands score is 593, he filed chapter 7 in 2008. He currently has nothing on his credit that he is paying. I have our car loan on mine, and two medical bills totaling about 4,000. ( I have paid everything else that was negative and these are the only two bills left) Other than the day to day bills, our only bill (that goes on record) is our car since we rent, and it is only in my name. I'd like to improve our scores over the next 3 years before we move again (my husband is in the service) so that we can buy our first home. I currently do not work. Does anyone have any good advice on the best ways to raise our scores? Will the medical bills stop my score from raising?

Hi simpson,
Welcome to this community :)
Can I know how old are the bills, and which state you live in? What are status of all other negative accounts on your credit report? I hope that the bankruptcy has fallen off your and your husband's credit report? These informations are important to help you in improving your credit score.
Thanks,
Aaron
hope this can help...
Ok, one of the medical bills is from 2/2007, and the other is 1/2009. totalling about 4,000 together. I currently live in Virginia, I just moved here from Indiana. My husband is in the Navy so we are not looking to buy our first home until our new change of station in 3 1/2 years. The other negative accounts: I have the 2 medical bills that are labled as collection accounts. I have my bankruptcy from october of 2004, and 4 items that were include in the bankrupcy on my negative list, then I have 4 issues on my negative list that I have paid and closed. It says on my report that my bankrupcy will contunue on my credit until october 2014. This is my information for negative accounts. My husbands: He had his bankrupcy on 9/2008 and will continue on his record untill 9/2018. He has 7 negatives that were included in the bankrupcy, and 1 account that says transfered, closed, written off. This is the extent of our bad accounts I hope you can help. Thanks.
