OK, (some of you know this story, cinn and aaron lol) but we disputed a collection attempt with the bureaus from Equidata and it was good. So I sent a DV letter to Equidata, they responded saying they need more information so they can find the account information. I sent them my wifes social and all the information they requested. 30 days went by, no response. I checked our reports and they reported a Key Derogatory last month, from my understanding that is a violation. I than sent them a letter stating it has been 30 days and they continued to report which is a violation to the FDCPA and if they cease all collection attempts and remove it from her report we will not file complaints. That was sent on Tuesday 06-01-2010, I have not received the return receipt for that one, but what I did get, today, was a letter that cracked me up, it stated:
"Some time ago we notified you that the accounts listed below were placed with us for collections. Your credit file may presently report outstanding collection items in your name. Protect your credit rating by calling our office or by sending payment in full."
I loved the "some time ago", they can't even provide a date, but anyways, is this a second violation to the FDCPA??? I am yet to receive ANY documents verifying this debt. Should I stop playing nice and just report them to the AG, FTC, and BBB?

At this point you should just report them, they are not following the law and following through with debt validation.
How old is the debt? is it with in the statute of limitations or has that time expired?
I believe the SOL for Texas is 4 years, the debt is from 05/01/08 (according to her report). So it is with in the SOL.
I have never filed a complaint yet, is this a simple process or will I be better off finding a ehow on it lol.

Just go forward with, and file the complaint with Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, and Federal Trading Commission. You can also complain about this to the State Attorney General.
Use the validation proofs to make your complaint more strong. You will be able to find your Attorney general's office through online googling. I just got one, which you can use: http://www.oag.state.tx.us/consumer/complain.shtml .
