I have an issue with the credit bureaus NOT willing to remove duplicate informaiton as submitted by various collection agencies for the same debt. In addition, I have asked the collection companies to provide proof that I indeed owe this debt and to date they have NOT been able to provide proof of debt. With that, I've asked the credit bureaus to remove this information based on that fact. To date they have NOT removed the information citing the collection companies are indicating the debt to be valid -- but its annoying the credit bureaus are not placing any burden of proof on the collection agencies. Any thoughts on how to get this negative info removed from my report

removing collection accounts
Hi Guest,
Can you tell whether or not the collection agencies ever answered to your validation request, and can I know if you have proof of the validation letters sent? If you have proof the validation letters, you can try to dispute these collection accounts once again. If you want you can refer to the sample dispute letter available with this community. Send the letter through certified mail, requesting a return receipt.
If this does not work too, you can try to dispute these accounts using the 623 dispute method. You can also file complaint with the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and your State Attorney General.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Aaron
