good evening all,
I have received a letter from TU (as a response to my "MOV" letter)
TU writes how they investigated my dispute (i.e., by mail, electronic means or telephone...") But they did not send me any documentation or transcripts of how the dispute was verified, for me to review, per my requests of April 23 and May 9, 2010.
Is there a way for me to get this information?
I sent by CMRRR a DV letter to the JDB on April 2, 2009 and still have not heard anything back from them yet. Is this as far as it goes or is there anything else I can try? By the way, this JDB bought this debt from an OC that I have never dealt with and I disputed the tradeline as "not mine" with TU but it came back verified.
Thank you very much
1. MOV letter requires that they explain how they contacted listed tradeline to verify the information they reporting. An accurate address is what is required.
2. The JDB doesn't have to respond to the DV but they do have to stop collecting. that means they can't list this on your CRA.
I would contact your AG immediately.

Hi titewad,
Cinnamngrl is right. You should try to contact your State Attorney General, and complain about this. As JDB have not validated your debt, under the rules of Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) they may not continue with the collection process.
Thanks,
Aaron
even worse than continuing to collect is that they verified the debt with CRA without providing you any violation. Threatnen them with suit for violating FDCPA and FCRA and this should be resolved.
UPDATE, TY ALL
TU sent me a letter explaining that the tradeline with the JDB was deleted from my file
Thank you all

Hi Aaron, within TU's letter to me they tell me to view my updated credit file thru a web addy, but when I go to the site, I get an access denied error. Im guessing I will not be able to view it as I did not subscribe to any monitoring service, and this all came about from me getting my free (1 time on year) credit report. However, I do have another letter to TU asking if it is poss. for me to view at a diff. web addy.
Thank you

Hi titewad,
You can pull your credit report again to check the status of this account, though not for free. However, if what you have requested to TransUnion works out, then well and good.
Thanks,
Aaron
