What to do

I have traffic tickets that are in collections. After communicating directly with the court and unsuccessfully asking them if I could pay them directly, I was told there were 5 accounts with the collection agency.

I sent a settlement letter only addressing the one account that had suspended my drivers license. Finally received a letter today that in no way responded to my settlement offer. Instead it was a list of all accounts that were with them, a break down of each one price wise, and a total amount owed. They claim they have 15 accounts in my name unpaid, but meanwhile I have verification directly from the court that there are only 5.

I think there info is obviously inaccurate. What should my next step be? Is that 1 page letter listing all of the account numbers and amount owed proper validation? What step/s do I need to take to dispute this?

Hi Susan,

Use the court verification that you have to dispute the 10 other tickets. Can you tell whether all these are being listed on your credit report?

Thanks,

Aaron
