Summons Question

I have started making monthly payments before receiving my summons. The company has not filed a Certificate of Service yet. It is for a credit card and I owe the money. I was wondering why they are still going to serve me when I'm making payments. I live In CA.

You can inquire about this from the company itself. However, can you tell whether or not this is a credit card company or a collection agency? Do you have written proof of the payments.

Can you tell whether you just called them and inquired into this or did you send them a certified debt validation letter?
