debt verification

A collection has been placed on my credit report and I am not sure what it is for. I had sent a letter to verify but I never received a response.

They have tried calling several times, but I have never spoken to them over the phone. I received another letter saying I can verify within 30 days, I sent a second letter asking for verification with a tracking number, which was received by someone at their address.

I have never gotten a response. The bureaus have 'verified' the account as valid after multiple disputes as well, so I am at a loss.

What can I do?

Hi Mel,

Write a dispute letter to the credit bureaus, and attach along with it proof of the verification letters sent to the collection agency, and also a copy of the letter sent by them, asking you to send them a verification letter.

You will get a sample dispute letter with this community, which you can use to write one of your own.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Aaron
