Under CA.marriage law can a husbands credit card bank put a lein on a mobile home that wife bougth and mortdgaged and paid for on her own.

Hi,

Yes, the bank can put a lien on the house bought by you, because California is a community property state. In a community property state, the wife needs to pay for the debt incurred by the husband and vice versa. Moreover, even if it isn't a community property state, but the home is in both your names, lien can be put on the home for debt incurred by one.

Hope this helps.

Aaron

Hi,

California is a community property state. Thus, your wife can be held responsible for your debt. You can check for this in the Internet. However, if you had accrued this debt before your marriage then the situation can be different.

Thanks,
