I have three items on my credit report, according to the Equifax report on March 27, 2010.
So I called today to discuss the drop off dates, and towards the end of our conversation she tells me she is showing a Household finance negative account.
So I asked her why that didn't appear on my ST credit report (The free one) when it is an old debt. She said she sees it there, but she doesn't see another debt, and would I like to spend $14. for a new and complete credit report.
Sounds like this was their plan all along.
What I find weird, some of the debts are in my spouses name only and do not show on my account. Not sure why. A creditor in NY said he would only talk to my wife about a debt, so not sure how this grey area works.
Should I run a credit report on her SS number and see what is there, or let that dog remain silent?
two credit report accounts
Hi Shintao,
As for the debts on your wife's report, you can pull a copy of the report, and check what is being listed there. Then call the company to whom you owe the debt and inquire into this.
As for the Household Finance account, if you are not sure about it, you can send a debt validation letter to the company. Send it through certified mail, requesting a return receipt.
Hope this helps.

Aaron
