Who are these people???

Got several calls on my machine from a guy with a very thick accent, says his name is mike nelson. Phone numbers are 212-500-0839 (get a machine on this one) and 951-271-7548, this one they hung up on me three times after they found out that I have an attorney. They would not give me their name or the reason for their call.

The messages that they left did not indicate what the calls are about either, the only thing I got out of them was that they are a back door for some lending company. I have no clue, I do not owe anything, so I don't know what this is about.

Now when I call they act like they can not hear me, what a bunch of crap. Does anyone know who this company could be? at on time on the message they said they were financial crime reinforcement network?????, now they won't even admit to that.

any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a scam that didn't work on you. If you didn't have an attorney they would probably still be harrassing you. Never heard of this happening, but it seems like you shouldn't have much to worry about. Good luck.

Hi goodnatured,

I agree with Ladylaury. This must be a scam. I browsed through the net and found several people complaining about this company. Name not mentioned. Many people do get calls from this number with same kind of threats. What you can do is file a complaint with the State Attorney General. You can also block them from your phone.

I got a call from the same 951 number. Altho they did first call my employer first and left a name of Kevin Anderson. When I called back i kept getting put on hold until a thick accent man came on and asked if I knew i was getting sued. I knew this was b.s. when he said I took out a loan but never paid it back. According to them they were taking my case to be filed in the California State Supreme Court. When asked why i was never served or contacted before about this, he told me that he didn't need to. After asking several more questions which were never really answered, the male finally hung up on me, but not before telling me to screw myself.
I'm just waiting now to see if I either get a call or something from the a court

I filed a complaint with the Pa attorney generals office yesterday.

I was so peeved, I turned the tables on them, I called them 10 times yesterday, they told me not to call back, I told them, you called me like 3 times a day for the last week, I will call you daily. I think they blocked my number because I can not get through today, I have two different numbers for them.

I did find an article as well on these scammers, I would advise anyone dealing with them to report them to the attorney general in your state and then call them directly and tell them that they will be hearing from your attorney as well as the attorney generals office, I would repeatedly call them.

I have NOT received one call yet today. :D

Got a letter from the Pa attorney generals office that these calls are all scams, there is nothing they can do to stop them but they are a ware of them happening all over the state.

(I know this is an older post, but..would like to make a comment, anyway...) In the last few months, I've been getting calls for someone who doesn't live here. I keep telling these people that. They call from a 'private' or 'blocked' number (I shouldn't answer the phone with these kinds of numbers). Sounds like an 'overseas' kind of thing. Anyway...I wanted to lay a trick on them and said.."ok,..I am the person you are looking for." They said they would be at my home within the hour to collect on "property taxes." Super funny...since I don't OWN any property!! Never heard from them again..and...of course, they nevr showed up at my door.
