BIG BAD COLLECTOR (not verified)

1st of all i must intervene...as far as the BMG or COLUMBIA house debts..most ppl actually DO sign up for these things..it may be accidental but they do..blame the iternet for that..because most ppl are out to get the free offer after clicking on what they thought was a completion of a FREE offer, not realizing in the fine print it states the CONTRACT charges that arises...so ppl need to be more carefull or stop looking for fre merchadise...then as far as medical..no one is at fault but the patient, the hospital sends a ton of notices before a bill is sent to collections, the agency is only collecting what the hospital states they owe..as far as the suing goes..it is unfair to say it is fault of the agency but more fault of the hospital or of the insurance..most ppl do not realize, a hospital is billing insurance as a COURTESY it is YOUR responsibility to ensure the insurance pays...and further more..ur insurance is responsible for you and you are responsible for the bill...and one last note..a true debt collector attitude should not be pleasent, pleasent customer svc went out the window when a DEBTOR decides to default on their own commitment and responsibility,,so attempting to pursue legal actions for monetary gain shows most peoples irresponsibility to handle their finances and they are only looking to see what they can get out of company for being "MEAN"...i am only speaking bare truth because ppl need to stop blaming these collection agencies for their own mistakes,

Funny thing is this is only on experian's credit report. I have never purchased anything through BMG. They are saying I owe them 99 dollars, but in reality I don't.

I have had the same problem with NCS and capital assistance group. A bill from 2004 popped up on my credit of 196 dollars and they refuse to believe that i do not owe this money. I am still disputing this and filing complaints. I do not know what to do next.

I also have the same problem with NRA they said i owe $91.00 for Columbia House for some movies from 2005. I informed him that i have no knowledge of the account and the guy told me that they wanted to settle the debt , i told him good luck with that i didnt do that and i wasnt paying for something i didnt do.So here is what i did i disputed it with Experian because they are the one that has this on my report, and they came back and said it remains that it had been verified. So I went down to the local police depertment and filed a fraud police report and sent it to Experian along with a dispute letter and I also sent it to NRA. Expeian took it off and put a fraud alert on my report. So I think everybody should try that even if the acct is old, thats the only way that is going to come off your report.anyone that had this happen in a state they no longer live in has to contact the police department where this took place.

I rented an apartment about a year ago from a landlord who lives out of state. I am a college student and qualified for Section eight housingbut was still on the waiting list for a couple of months longer. I was having a problem finding housing and the apartment manager agreed to let me rent a higher priced unit for the time being and agreed on accepting Section eight when it became available-moving me to an appropriately priced unit upon receiving agency paperwork. When I finally was approved the out of town landlord said that he did not want the "rif raf" in his complex and refused to move me or except the paperwork. I tried to explain to him that without the necessary help for the rent -I just couldn't continue to afford the higher priced unit. I had to move. I recieved a notice that he is sueing me for over $10,000.00. What can I do

Hi p.s,

You can talk to your landlord about this. Inquire if you owe him any money. If he fails to give you an explanation, you can counterclaim in the court. However, I think you better take the help of a lawyer.

Hope this helps.

Aaron

It is very likely for Debt buyers to keep these charges on your credit as long as it is continued to be purchased from another agency. Disputing with Credit Bureaus is the best way to get this resolved, A letter of validation needs to be sent within first 30 days of notification of debt. Sometimes its as easy as contacting the agency listed & if account no longer available in their office. They will remove immediately. I work for a collection agency & I work with disputes & see alot coming from CAG.

I am being harassed about a capital one bill on a card that had a $300 balance; i got behind; it snowballed into over $1000 now and they are driving me crazy; i asked them over the phone for a copy of the bill; they said the amount; and that i owe it; what's a DV letter? I'm trying to get this out of my life; I am writing them to validate my debt and to stop calling me and use only mail? any other suggestions? I read a paid off collection is no better than an unpaid collection; so why bother settling with them now? It's been at least 3 years; close to our 4 years statutes in Florida

I received a letter from Oklahoma NCS LLC yesterday so I called to tell them this is incorrect and I do not owe this debt.

I was told by "Brandy" I owe this debt, that being on the do not call list does not apply to them they can call anytime they want, and she said I will call tomorrow and hung up. So I filed a complaint with the TX attorney General - I asked if they were bonder with the secretary of state and I asked for proof they refused.

My attorney will write them as soon as she gets the letter and my notes. She said the statute of limitations may have expired also.

Hi Jeanie and seeker,

You can send them a debt validation letter through certified mail requesting a return receipt. Debt validation is the process by which you come to know the actual amount of your outstanding debt, and if the collection agency really has the authority to collect from you. You will get a sample debt validation letter with this community which you can use to write one of your own.

Thanks,

Aaron

This company is called capital assistance. They have no proof of debt. Phone number is 866-761-6582. You can also speak to head of corportate litigation at Sony 212-930-4241. Lauren Miller customer service at sony 212-930-4528. You can also call columbia house direct 717-918-2665. None of these people will give you an answer. This whole thing is a scam. Nobody can give proof of debt. Nobody can validate the debt. And nobody is trying to help. I would bombard all these people with phoen call. By the way, ncs is charging about $120 fee for collecting any account.

Last week I received a letter from my bank that a negative score had been left on my Experian credit report. I called to find out what was going on only to hear that Columbia house, whom I didn't even know what that was, is trying to collect $182 from me from 2004. I never opened a account with this place and then they decide to send me something 6 years later?? Then I google columbia house to get a phone # and after trying several I get a person. They asked me for my account #, which I don't have since I never opened a account with them, and they looked up my account by my name and very old address which I was given by the collection agency or I wouldn't have known that. They then gave me my account # since I asked and I am trying to document everything and they informed me this account was closed and very old and they SOLD it to Capital assistance group in 2003, I then found out this account was really opened in 2001 and I didn't even live in the state they said this was opened in, in the first place. Then the account was closed in 2004. I have received 3 different amounts that were due at those times, and none equal what the collection agency is trying to get from me. I have asked numerous representitives for documentation and they either avoid the question or say they don't have any because it is so old. Now I am trying to get in touch with Capital assistance group and well all I can say is good luck. No one answers!! So I am thinking this is all a scam at my expense! Now I am disputing this, and leaving messages with Experian to see what the heck is going on here. The more I find out other people are going through the same thing as me. This is crazy!!!

I have had the same issue as other bloggers on this website with Capital Assistance Group. I never ordered anything and they placed a fradulent information on my Credit report. After trying to get in touch with them for so long, I contacted FTC and they were able to get me a some information on this company. Information such as the phone number, fax number, address, a direct e mail address to a person. I will go ahead and list all that information below in a bit but also FTC informed me to send them a written letter with signature delivery confirmation so this way there's a proof of them receiving a dispute letter and can be used against them if they do not follow up on it. I'm going to write them a letter first thing but meanwhile I also e mailed the person that was provided to me from FTC.
Phone Number: (800) 875-5808
Fax Number: (617) 964-5988
Email Address: jstoddard@ccusa.com
Hope this helps. Have a great day.

Cheers,

Xanthan81 you

my father makes model ships at 1:48 dimensions. He drafts the plans from original eighteenth century ship plans he is able to find and then builds them, planks on frame, according to those plans. Each ship takes him between five and seven years to try and do. I have so many fond memories of using his shop as a child and watching him work, As my son now does. If you would like learning how this is done then I highly recommend his book (Which I miss), that Ketch Rigged Sloop Speedwell of 1752.

furthermore, my pops is the kindest, Gentlest man i've ever met. He is a veterinarian and has spent his life helping animals. He loves giraffes and butterflies and is uniquely planning to pursue the world around him. He is what I aspire to be slavic ladies and this gift was just one small way we could show our thankfulness to a truly great man.

He style is like Brent Spiner who played Data in Star Trek. Spinet actually wanted to stop playing Data because as his character is an android isn designed to age and he felt that he was getting too old for the role. That why they killed him off in the last TNG movie.
