Can a garnishment for alimony be place against unemployment compensation?

Can you please tell 'us' what state you are in? I think the 'laws', on this, are different in every state.

Hi lostjob,

Generally speaking unemployment benefits cannot be garnished. However, there are some exceptions. It can be garnished for alimony. However, this depends on the state laws too. Thus, you need to check the your state laws.

Thanks,

Aaron
