Hi bernadettdowdy,

Send a "Debt validation letter" to the company through certified mail, requesting a return receipt (CMRRR). You will get a sample debt validation letter at http://www.creditmagic.org/repair/sampleletter-debtvalidation.html . You can use this sample letter to write one of your own.

Wait for some days. They either may not be able to send you a proper validation or may not send you any answer at all. You can then send a "Dispute letter" to the credit bureaus, through CMRRR. You can use the sample dispute letter at http://www.creditmagic.org/repair/dispute-letter.html . Attach a copy of your debt validation letter, and the proof that they received the letter.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Aaron

SEnd a DV letter for unknown debt. Dispute this item on your report in writing. use CMRRR for both
