I recently sent a PFD letter to CA. They accepted the offer so I immediately sent payment via cashiers check. As of today they still have not removed the negative information from my reports. I contacted the bank to see when the check was cashed and they told me feb 25. I need to know how to dispute this correctly. I believe i have everything I need: a letter with the company letter head agreeing to the terms with the general managers signature, a copy of the cashiers check from the bank. I also sent the payment certified with a return rcpt. Any information would be appreciated.
Have you attempted to contact them and see when they update their records? It may be that they just have not updated it yet. Try to contact them and see what they say.
If they don't then you can contact and file a dispute through the credit reporting agencies and have them contact them.
Hang out here, more people will come on and advise you on what to do, they may have some different advice. Hope this all works out for you.
item not removed after agreement to pfd
Hi wzahn,
Welcome to this forum :)
You can first contact the company and inquire into this. Ask them how many days will they take to update your account. Then wait for some days. If still they fail to report it correctly to the credit bureaus, you can use all the documentation - the payment proof, the agreement to Pay for Delete (PFD) letter, etc. to dispute this with the credit bureaus.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Aaron
You can ask the creditor to do an instant update, and to update their manual tape as well.
Or you can forward copy of the letter you have to all 3 of the credit reporting agencies, be sure to keep the originals for your records. Ask the credit reporting agencies to delete as agreed to in the letter.
Also contact a 4th credit reporting agency - Innovis

They might have this account listing as well.
It has been 32 days since they cashed your check. I would dispute these with the CRAs but don't get freaked out. you are pretty much on schedule.
Hopefully they will update it soon, you got some good advice here. I would start by checking with the company and see what they have to say about updating the account for you.
I have always heard it took up to two months for a credit report to be updated. I am not saying this is accurate information, just what I have read here before.
