The only authorized service that reports credit is annualcreditreport.com. you can obtain your score from any of the services, but bear in mind that it will cost you. in addition, should you go ahead and contact a lender, that lender will also pull a credit report that you will ultimately pay for at closing.
my personal opinion is that we all know how well we pay our bills, and what our credit standing is. the score(s) are nice to know, but they are a mere indicator of what we should already know about ourselves.
a reputable lender will work with you, pull the credit report and analyze your situation to try to come up with the appropriate product for a refinance. lenders are also required to advise you of your scores.
i guess you can tell i am not an advocate of spending too much money for a credit score.

Neither am I of the opinion that one can spend a lot on credit scores. Use the annual reports that you get from the three credit bureaus.

I agree. I've purchased my score but once, and will do so again only when I'm going to buy a car. Maybe I'll open a wamu account to get a free score...

Could you tell me about this wamu account?

Wamu informs you whenever your score fluctuates by 20 points...and I'm pretty sure they give you your FICO. I don't actually know what type of account it is...I suspect it's a credit card.
