The best thing that you can do is to try and pay off your creditors. You may consider a debt relief service or may simply try out a self-repayment option with your creditors. Your credit score will gradually improve. If you're too much into debt, call up your creditors and try negotiating.

Increasing Credit Lines and Availability - debt ratio advice

Submitted by PhoenixMan on Tue, 01/11/2011 - 01:13

Hey all! If somebody can verify this for me, that would be great. I've been working on raising my credit score by trying to clean up some things from the past.

Unfortunately, I've had to max out some credit cards last year due to the recession. We're starting to chip away, but I noticed that my score went down for a while. We still need clothes and things and my wife likes to shop but that's pretty much over at the moment.

Credit Limit Increase Help...

Submitted by millatyme34 on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 18:53

So I've called to get my credit line increased and I'm told that they won't do it even though I have never had a late payment and I've been exceptional about my credit as I take it very seriously.Should I try back again, or ask for a supervisor? I know you can b!itch enough and get your way, I do it all the time. Also one of my credit cards checked my credit because I requested a limit increase and it counted as a hard inquiry. If I knew that I woulda never done that. Is there anything I can do? Thanks guys and gals.

Post filing returned items

Submitted by kickreefer on Thu, 12/09/2010 - 23:46

Hi Gang,

I filed Chapter 7 at the end of November. Earlier in November I charged $2500 worth of items from Best Buy that I could use in my business.

Not feeling good about the purchase ( I can do without) I returned the items today. I wanted to do this before the return time expired.

Will this have any adverse effects? It feels morally correct. All other purchases were made months ago.

Thanks in advance.

Are there any good credit card offers to rebuild credit?

Submitted by InPortOut on Thu, 12/02/2010 - 01:56

I know the rates are high on some offers, but I'm looking for a card to rebuild my credit. I don't currently have one but I thought it would be good to establish some credit and manage it correctly and rebuild my credit. Or is this a bad idea? Thanx in advance

credit report

I would like to know how many times the same company can look at your credit report. I have had the same company look at my credit report every month for the last 5 years. I am getting so mad because of it cause every time they do it my credit goes down. I am in the process of trying to get it up because my mom didnt pay for bills that she put in my name when I was younger. I tried contacting the credit reporting agencies and they say that if I have ever had anything open with this company then they have a right to look at it. I dont know what they are looking for.

Arrangement with creditor - what kind of letter do I use?

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Tue, 11/16/2010 - 03:17

I SUPPOSEDLY never returned ATT equipement when I moved out. Went to COllection agency. I now purchased a box and will send them that thing. I think I should also send a letter stating something like this :By accepting this device, you agree to cease collection, contact Collection agency and delete all records etc.". My credit score took a huge hit.. 100 points down because of this! What kind of letter could I use and send with the box?

Thanks!
