I am having a problem paying off my payday loan. In August 2013. I took out a loan of $200 from Total Lending. I have now paid them $660 in interest. I have tried to call but they do not respond. I have a fax number which I am assuming I could use to send a letter. I know my bank will put a stop payment on this withdrawal however I have not done that yet. If I send a letter through the fax informing them I am not paying anymore..do you think they will respond? Thanks I live in Indiana.
do this
you see a manager at the bank and give them an ACH revocation letter stating you are revoking total's debit rights.btw stop payments don't work as illegals change the amount,co name, and even submit paper checks.no again draft a ach revocation letter, and see a manger in person for this.google the ETFA section E.it is federal law and your right to revoke anybody's ach rights at anytime.
need to add
since taotal is illegal you only owe the 200.00.meaning you overpaid.so go to the sticky in this forum on dealing with illegal lenders.there are letters and steps to take.follow every step.
Total lending is an illegal lender all over the state of US. You are required to pay them only the borrowed amount. No interest, no fees. Ask them for the refund, as you have already overpaid them. It would be better for you to close down your old bank account and open a new one to stop debiting money from your account. Don’t share any personal information with them.
