CBNA shows up on your credit report – What should you do?

CBNA (Credit Bureau of North America, LLC) is a collection agency headquartered in Tennessee, USA. Though it has an A rating from the BBB, it's not a BBB (Better Business Bureau) accredited business. The acronym (CBNA) may also stand for Citibank North America. Read on to know what you should do when you're contacted by Credit Bureau of North America or Citibank North America.

What should you do if it's an old debt you haven't paid off?

If the collection agency (CA) or the bank is contacting you about an old debt, you should first check whether or not the Statute of Limitations (SOL) on that debt has expired. If it has expired, then the creditor or the CA cannot file a lawsuit against you to collect the unpaid amount. However, the creditor or CA may still use other out-of-court means to collect on the debt.

Before you make any payments to CBNA, you should negotiate with them to settle your debts if your financial situation doesn't permit you to repay the outstanding balance in full. Whatever option you choose, it is advisable that you negotiate a "Pay for delete" agreement. This means that the creditor/collection agency will remove all information on this account from your credit report(s) once you settle or pay off the debt in full. If the CA or the creditor doesn't agree to one, then at least try and negotiate for a "Settled as agreed" status on your credit report.

What if you've paid off the debt but it shows up on your report?

If you've paid off the debt but it's not reflected on your credit report as "Paid", then you should dispute it with Citibank North America or Credit Bureau of North America, LLC. You should send a dispute letter to the credit bureau asking them to correct the inaccurate listing. Or, you can contact the creditor or collection agency and ask them to co-ordinate with the bureaus on your behalf. The account should appear as "Paid" on your credit report.

What should you do if you don't owe the debt at all?

If you don't owe the debt and a collection agency is attempting to collect on it, then you should ask them to validate the debt. To do so, you should send a debt validation letter to the CA via fax or certified mail. However, if you're trying to deal with the creditor, then you must ask them to verify your account.

Sometimes you may find a listing on your credit report from a creditor when you don't have an account with them. In this situation, you need to dispute the account with the CA/creditor or the credit bureaus to get the incorrect item deleted from your credit reports.

I recognize that west Indians are a product of African, indigenous Indians, Europeans and Indians from India having sexual relations. I have friends and people married into my family whose parents or grandparents were a woman who was visually of African descent and a man who was visually of Indian descent. In other words I do not know of a woman who identifies with the dark culture and a man who identifies with any of the Indian cultures from India being married. That does not mean it doesn't occur. I was drawn to your main problem for two reasons. One, the actual answer posted was short and trite. Two because I myself joined an interracial dating site and was e mailed by a Pakistani man around my own age who works here in the states and grew up in Pakistan. Oh my amazing benefits, I wish this question were reversed. u s of a's women dating Turkish born men. I have LOTS of answers for that and perhaps some can be shared amongst both sexes. We have cultural (And some unique or a mix) Clashes continually. But more so in the start of our relationship. Here are a few good,

1 Things are shared between the two of you instantly. I identified "feel free to my groceries" And that made him sad because it drew a line between the two of us. Something nice for me to say ended up offending him and really making him feel sad. I had little idea.

2 Tell your husband or wife where you're going if you're going somewhere (Not to the food store or to get gas or something but out to dinner, To television, Out with classmates, consequently on.). They don't really care that you are going and its not a control thing (At least not in my case) But like to feel as a unit and nearness is key. My boyfriend talks to his brother about 15 times a day on the phone and to his Mother (who may be in Turkey) About once daily. I query "What do you guys speak about, And he hates this real question. i think. Its unique thing. business relationships in general are just a lot more close, trustworthy, And intimate a whole lot ahead of we usually do it in America (Most of the rest of the world i think?). i'm not sure if this is common amongst men of that region but I've never experienced anything quite like it. Luckily you wont have this challenge. My problem is learning how to cope with one or two day "give man". Meaning setting up a wall.

4 Everything big or small are reacted upon on the same level. This is hard for me to deal with as well. But he's working on it. generally if I said a rude comment or if I stood him up. Both appears to be equally bad.

6 My boyfriend isn't religious nor is anyone in his family. So no problems there but it could be in your case? I know families are more protective over girls than guys so getting in with your family may be a bit more difficult from that perspective than it would be for me,

7 Some things are really offensive like mesmerizing (It shows less respect) And something important is to be patient if your girlfriend is speaking English as a second language. If you're arguing its so hard because you're mad but you ought to be patient, Dont lift up your voice (Thats bad too and is often misinterpreted when its raised as a sign of intonation (sp?), And give her time to believe and gather thoughts.
