I sent out a few DV letters on the 5th of this month. Had one CA call me asking for my maiden name which I gave them. Then I just received a letter in the mail stating this
Please be advised that all credit bureaus were notified on this date to delete all credit reporting listed by this company as to your name.
We have requested that they indicate this in their records.
However they tacked on a whole bunch of other bills I supposedly owe them. Does this mean they are done with me?
I have also disputed this with one of the credit bureaus...and I have an extensive paper trail w/ receipts.

Can you tell me whether or not you had sent the letter through certified mail? What you can do is send them another debt validation letter mentioning that you had sent another before, which was not properly validated.
Send the second validation letter too through certified mail, requesting a return receipt. Wait for their answer. If they fail to validate your debt this time too, again dispute the wrong listings with the credit bureaus. Along with the dispute letter attach copies of the return receipt of the validation letters, and the answer that the collection agency gave.

Hi Im sorry I posted twice, lol Im not very good at forums. Thanks for the welcome! Ok well yes I did everything certified mail and have all my copies, reciepts and so far only a few green cards. However after I got that letter from one CA stating that they would stop all report from their company in my name and they did not delete the items, I disputed with experian. I was a little timid on doing that but I had all my papers to back me up so I did it and they emailed me today saying that after their investigation they deleted all four items!! I had just checked my report and sure enough all four are gone, however my score remained the same =(
But I guess a better score will come in time, at least I got four bad marks off my report and Im so happy now that instead of paying all these off and continuing to have them on my report I decided to try the DV letters. Im so excited, its an amazing feeling of "wow I did it" I will keep you all updated on the results of the other DV letters im waiting on replies for.

I just wanted to update you all the other validation letters I had floating around. I have all the green cards except for one and I looked it up online and said it was undeliverable? However that collector just updated on my credit report after not doing so for yrs! I have had one more bad item removed from my credit, I didn't send them a letter or anything because it was supposed to fall off in Nov of this year. I have two other items in dispute at the moment with experian. Just wanted to update you guys...went from 13 neg items to 8 as of today =). House of my own I am on my way!
Kittymama! never talk to CAs on the phone and never give them information.

for the undeliverabel green card-- you need to send a MOV letter to the cra. send the print out from USPS.
