My fiancee got contacted recently by midland for debts he believes he was previously garnished for but didn't keep records of,these were from over 5 yrs ago.how can he get copies of proof and does the company like the original company have records if its been paid off?and what are the laws since we live in Nevada? These debts are from Washington and his old.employer which he worked for the last none yrs is saying they don't have to send him his garnishment records is that true?

Ask your fiancee to go through the judgment record. He can get it from the court. He can get to know about the name of the plaintiff from there too. The company ought to have the payment record. Or else, he can contact an attorney regarding this issue. His ex-employer is not legally bound to send him the garnishment record.

Make sure your fiancée doesn't make any move without seeing proof. Technically his ex-employer doesn't really need to send him a garnishment record.
